Package: libid3-3.8.3c2a Version: 3.8.3-7 Severity: normal File: libid3 I have some MP3s with ID3 v2.4 tags, but this version of libid3 apparently only supports v2.3. So when trying to list tags in these files (using the id3v2 tool), it ignores the v2 tags and goes straight to the v1 tags; if there are no v1 tags, it incorrectly states there are no ID3 tags. Editing is even worse: it simply overwrites existing v2 tags (except those set explicitly) from the v1 tags.
If it doesn't try to read the v2 tags, it should at least print a message saying it can't read them because the version is unsupported. And never overwrite existing v2 tags (including unsupported versions) unless told to do so! -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (60, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.19.2-ddawson-pom Locale: LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO-8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libid3-3.8.3c2a depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.2.1-4 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.2.1-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-6 compression library - runtime libid3-3.8.3c2a recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
