The 'Compositor' tab is present but 'Enable display compositing' is disabled and the rest of the settings are grayed out. Menawhile it ghas gotten somewhat faster but not instant like I seem to remeber it used to be. "Meanwhile" meaning other debian updates and kernel update to 2.3.23.
