Package: xfce4 Version: 4.4.1 Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi,
xfce4 menu seems only to use the first word in Exec= line of a .desktop file. Thus, (freedesktop.org) menu entries for eg. OpenOffice.org, having a line like: Exec=ooffice -writer %U don't work correctly. Upstream doesn't plan on fixing it in the near future: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2430 A workaround for this particular issue could be to fall back to oowriter, oocalc etc. wrappers for OO.o, but it doesn't fix the cause, and I'm hesitant to file a bug on OO.o for something that's not its fault. FWIW, Slackware packager does exactly that: http://rlworkman.net/pkgs/sources/current/openoffice.org-2.3.0/desktop-file-fix-2.3.diff Related Ubuntu bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/159611 Regards, Zoran --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22.1-ck1 Debian Release: lenny/sid 990 testing security.debian.org 990 testing ftp.carnet.hr 990 testing debian.iskon.hr 990 testing buildd.emdebian.org 600 stable security.debian.org 600 stable ftp.sunet.se 600 stable ftp.srce.hr 600 stable debian.iskon.hr 500 feisty wine.budgetdedicated.com 50 unstable ftp.sunet.se 50 unstable debian.iskon.hr 50 unstable buildd.emdebian.org 40 experimental nekkar.carnet.hr 40 experimental jurina.srce.hr 40 experimental debian.iskon.hr --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ================================-+-=========== xfwm4 (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-2+b1 xfwm4-themes (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfce4-mcs-plugins (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfce4-panel (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1jelly0 xfce4-icon-theme (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 xfdesktop4 (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-5 thunar (>= 0.8.0) | 0.8.0-5 xfce4-utils (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 gtk2-engines-xfce (>= 2.4.1) | 2.4.1-1 xfce4-session (>= 4.4.1) | 4.4.1-1 -- Zoran Dzelajlija Sistem administrator Informacijski sustavi i servisi Iskon Internet d.d.
