The upstream bug report was about a little older (p3) version, and someone reported it against the same version as you, so I assumed it existed. It seems it doesn't. I can reproduce your problem. The version in testing/unstable behaves the same with -I as the version in stable with -L. It also has a -L option now that doesn't seem to be doing something.
