Hi Thomas, Several months ago, it compiled fine with 5.1, but run weirdly. But now it just works perfectly. Thanks for noticing this. I've uploaded the new package to http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/k/kawari8/kawari8_8.2.4-3.dsc I'm not a DD now and not having a long-term sponsor for this package.
