I want to have no fb at all, but my kernel used to load vesafb at boot. The workaround I found is to move the vesafb.ko file, and run mkinitrd, but this sounds like a hack to me since I'm manipulating files under dpkg's control. As Miroslav points out, it's also a problem on package upgrades. Shouldn't there be a way to disable vesafb on boot without messing with /lib/modules files?
FYI, I need this to keep NVIDIA's drivers to lockup my system.

Note that there's nothing specific to k7 in this request.
