This is probably a missunderstanding: the module-source package
(unicorn-source) is still maintained by the original maintainer. Only
the prebuilt binary modules (unicorn-modules-2.6.22-2-$flavours) were
provided by the kernel-team.

As outlined above, the binary modules are completely independent. He
should then just go ahead and adopt unicorn.
