I have somewhat of the same issue. I have two 1024 displays next to each other (xrandr --output VGA --left-of LVDS) and when I lock the screen, only the left 1024x768 bits (the VGA screen) get blanked; the right screen (LVDS) is not altered and actually receives updates: if I leave e.g. IRC running, I (and unauthorised third parties) can read along while the screen is locked.
