The fundamental problem is that it is not trivial to split a TeX distribution into several pieces. The current packages follow upstreams collections which should work for most usages. Suggestions for improvment are welcome, though. Anyway, if all you want to do is write letters using g-brief and tk-brief, then you could do the following: * install texlive-latex-base, maybe texlive-fonts-recommended if you want to use different fonts * get g-brief class from CTAN and install it manually (see "Installing (La)TeX files" on <URL:http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq>) * use equivs to build an a 'tetex-extra' package (or texlive-latex-extra after a tk-brief update) * install tk-brief You will miss out on all the other possibilities LaTeX packages have to offer ... ;-) cheerio ralf -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
