The GConf key /apps/diff-ext/icons key should have been set to "diff-ext" by default. It is not set up in the installation, apparently.
I don't even know C++, but I took a quick look at the code, and soon deduced that this missing key was what was making Nautilus freeze. Please spread the word so the package can get out there, this is a good extension. -- Fredrik Bränström http://branstrom.name
