Package: xscreensaver Version: 4.16-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream I'm sure you must have seen Matthew Thomas "First 48 hours enduring Ubuntu" and his suggestion to not make the password dialog expire in the middle of your typing (this is a posting in his blog; the URL is <http://mpt.net.nz/archive/2005/04/11/ubuntu> but the site is having some sort of PHP hiccups at the moment so you may be better off getting it from Google's cache; this is item 31 on his list) but I'd like to echo his wish here in the form of an actual bug report.
Could the thermometer / fuel gauge start over from the top, and/or pause when you type or move the mouse? When you get a phone call in the middle of entering your password, you might pause for just long enough to be this close -> <- to a timeout, and rush to type in the last letter, and hit the wrong key, and spill your coffee all over your keyboard and scare your house animals and possibly other sentient life forms in your vicinity. It's a drag. Could it be changed?
