Package: amavisd-new
Version: 20030616p10-5
Severity: important

Hi, if you're trying to use amavisd-new with postfix as a smtp proxy
filter, and postfix is configured to announce SMTP auth, amavisd breaks
things badly.

Relevant bits:

        smtpd_proxy_filter=127.0.0.1:10024      (pointing at amavis)
        smtpd_auth_enable=yes

SMTP:

220 new-insecurity.home.shockwave.org ESMTP Postfix
ehlo xxx.org
250-new-insecurity.home.shockwave.org
250-PIPELINING
250-SIZE 61440000
250-VRFY
250-ETRN
250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5
250-AUTH=LOGIN PLAIN DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5
250 8BITMIME
mail from:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> auth=<>
250 Ok
rcpt to:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
504 5.5.4 MAIL command parameter error: AUTH=<>

I've checked the source in amavisd-new, and it's definitely not processing
AUTH properly. The good news, however, is that it's fixed in the current
version of amavisd-new.

I see in another bug that you have a sid package just about ready to go,
but that message is dated in 2004. Help please? This is screwing things
kinda badly for me (I have to change my filtering to not reject spam...).
