Hi all,
it's been a long time since we last talked about this issue.
"geomview-users" list readers may want to (re-)read Debian bug
#357445 [1] for a bit of context...

I see that, on 27 Dec 2006, Steve M. Robbins proposed a patch [2] to
rename dot-files by simply dropping their dots. L. Wood raised an
objection about lack of backward compatibility.

I took a look at src/bin/geomview/common/worldio.c and at
src/lib/oogl/util/glob.c

Now I wonder: would

  sprintf(pat, "%s/.geomview-* %s/geomview-*", emodule_path[i],
emodule_path[i]);

do the trick in worldio.c and guarantee the desired back-compatibility?
I am not familiar enough with Geomview source code to be sure about the
acceptability of such a fix, that's why I am asking to the experts (that
is to say: you!).
Would my proposed modification (combined with Steve's patch, of course),
solve the dot-files issue?
