Hi. Patrick Winnertz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (06/09/2007): > Can you please purge everything which belongs to virtualbox* from your > system and install everything completly new?
In my case, I didn't have anything installed prior to installing virtualbox-ose*, and I'm able to reproduce this. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a Linux erwin 2.6.22-1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Jul 23 12:43:14 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/vboxdrv crw-rw---- 1 root root 10, 62 2007-09-08 10:11 /dev/vboxdrv > Does then the error still exist? So, yes. > udev is reloaded correctly and the dev belongs to root:vboxusers on my > machine. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart Stopping the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd. Starting the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/vboxdrv crw-rw---- 1 root root 10, 62 2007-09-08 10:11 /dev/vboxdrv In case it matters: ii udev 0.114-2 ii virtualbox-ose 1.5.0-dfsg2-1 ii virtualbox-ose-source 1.5.0-dfsg2-1 Cheers, -- Cyril Brulebois
