Hi.

In my case, I didn't have anything installed prior to installing
virtualbox-ose*, and I'm able to reproduce this.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux erwin 2.6.22-1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Jul 23 12:43:14 UTC 2007 x86_64
GNU/Linux
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/vboxdrv
crw-rw---- 1 root root 10, 62 2007-09-08 10:11 /dev/vboxdrv

So, yes.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
Stopping the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd.
Starting the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /dev/vboxdrv
crw-rw---- 1 root root 10, 62 2007-09-08 10:11 /dev/vboxdrv

In case it matters:
ii udev 0.114-2
ii virtualbox-ose 1.5.0-dfsg2-1
ii virtualbox-ose-source 1.5.0-dfsg2-1

Cheers,
