As workaround the next version will use "Google Mode" as default mode, as it is used by most people. A real fix will be done as soon as a developer finds the time to do so, if you want to join the discussion or help - there's a viking-devel mailing list. I'm retitling this bug therefore and degrade it to wishlist, please let me know if it doesn't work for you in Google Mode.
