It seems to be a problem with the file - and with gv: Only gv shows the eps file as expected; evince doesn't show it at all, and GPL gs 8.54 shows it truncated as the PDF file. gs-esp (ESP Ghostscript 815.03 (2006-08-25)) silently shows nothing, just as evince does.
