Here's how I would summarize it: When using the workrave applet, the following strange behaviour is observed. After logging in, the applet is loaded and the timers are displayed. However, the timers are not doing anything. Workrave is fully functional, but the timers in the applet are just not running. When logging out and back in, the timers are updated, but still not running. Rightclicking the applet, choosing Quit, rightclicking the applet (sheep icon), choosing Open, makes the timers run normally.
