Package: bacula-sd
Version: 2.0.3-4
Severity: important

Am I wrong to assume that A DVD/CD may become old/worn-out/scratched?
I can think of several ways that tools like par2 and/or dvdisaster can
be used to combat these conditions, but I can't guess how after
reading all the config files and most of the docs.

On the same note it's possible that a Volume can go
misplaced/lost/destroyed. Writing out a parity volume would be a
great option. I understand some of the technical challenges here and
that this feature would not seam like something that could be done
with pre/post exec hooks like the previous request.

In any case I think a "post volume spool"(volume is done spooling)
hook for calling par2 and a "post label->mount"(There is a *newish*
volume with free space for any waiting par2s) hook for starting a job
would be important for every day use.

I think mostly the bacula-sd should take care of this, so that
requests from multiple directors are not needed to recover a
misplaced volume.
