Okay, I will contact debian-release about the transition once the pacakges
reach experimental. I just noticed that the libmtp6 packages are waiting
for approval in the NEW queue. In the meanwhile, the packages can be found
in the apt-getable repository:

I tried to build the following packages against libmtp6:
amarok 1.4.6-1
gnomad2 2.8.12-2
rhythmbox 0.11.1-1
The packages build fine. I did not test them, though.
