this happens each time python-apt is updated, and I don't really know
what I can do about it. Note that the problem is not really mine, but on
python-apt side.

As it happens, apt has been upgraded to a new version recently, and
python-apt with it.

I'm reassigning this to python-apt, and let upstream decide what they
want/can do about it.
