Hi Martin,

I understand this is an ugly solution but it's the only one I have found yet. I only have problems with it when using it in conjunction with a sparc64-smp kernel with scsi drivers. Same os, setup and package version on 686-smp: no problems at all. I don't think it's a problem with the package so much as it is a race condition between the initialization of the disks by the kernel drivers and the assembly attempt of the array by the script. Could there be a nicer way to check if the devices in /etc/mdadm.conf have be initialized before trying to proceed with the array assembly?
