Package: gs-gpl
Version: 8.54.dfsg.1-5
Run 'gs -h' and you'll get the following in the output...
Search path:
. : /usr/share/gs-gpl/8.54/lib : /usr/share/gs-gpl/8.54/Resource :
/usr/share/gs-gpl/fonts : /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts :
/usr/share/ghostscript/fonts : /usr/local/lib/ghostscript/fonts :
/usr/share/fonts
The problem is that /usr/share/gs-gpl/fonts does not exist. (Neither
does /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts, /usr/local/lib/ghostscript/fonts, nor
/usr/share/fonts for that matter.) Worse yet,
/usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts is not on that list anywhere. That makes
things difficult that may be looking for the font files. See:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2004/08/msg08068.html
Those who wish to build HylaFAX on the system must configure
--with-PATH_AFM="/usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts"
--with-FONTMAP="/usr/share/gs-gpl/8.54/lib" in order to get things
right. Certainly HylaFAX behavior could be improved in utilizing this
search path, but the ultimate problem that the gsfonts directory is not
anywhere on that search path.
