It didn't work as I expected. - I applied the patch, reboot, no nfs mounted /usr. - Did: "apt-get --reinstall install nfs-common initscripts"[1], to make sure I hadn't forgotten to revert any failed attempts and I was on the current page, reboot, no /usr. - Went to apply the patch and found it was already applied (mostly, tried both with and without the initial "portmap=no" line), reboot, no /usr. - re-hacked the portmap init script, reboot, all nfs imports are mounted. I've had 6 sucessful boot using the portmap script hack above, ~12 failures using the various hacks in the bug reports and trying to start rpc.statd at various points. - Bruce [1] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -l nfs-common initscripts Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed |/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-================-================-================================================ ii initscripts 2.86.ds1-38 Scripts for initializing and shutting down the s ii nfs-common 1:1.1.0-11 NFS support files common to client and server -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
