It's a general bug in gnome-session. I just tried to disable other services (like g-p-m) from autostarting and it had no effect either. gnome-session creates files in ~/.config/autostart with X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false, but either this format is not correct anymore or it simply ignores them upon login Reassigning to gnome-session.
