Hello,

I seem to experience a very similar problem. I am using the pekwm window
manager.

When animated pulldown is enabled, erverything works as expected
(except that
the animation is a bit slow on my laptop).

When I disable the animated pulldown option, tilda appears at very unexpected
places on the desktop (usually it is shifted on the left by half the screen
width, so that I only see the right-hand side half of tilda).

The very funny thing is that this problem happens when a non-maximized window
is aligned with the top-left corner of the screen (which is the default location
for newly opened windows). Slightly shifting the windows inwards seems to solve
the problem.

Please do not hesitate to ask me if there are things that you would like me to
test.

Thanks,

   François
