I don't have access to that machine now, but I thought it was using Xorg. Strange. However, I note the messages are different. Now I am confused how I upgraded to etch without upgrading this. Also, according to my bug report, xserver-xorg is installed. According to apt-cache, xserver-xorg conflicts with old versions of xserver-xfree86 and current versions of xserver-xfree86 are a transitional package only. This computer is fully up to date with etch. The only thing I can think of is that I got confused and quoted an old log file, but I think I double checked this. Will triple check. This is confusing. Next time I get physical access to the machine (probably tomorrow) I will try to work out why it is still using XFree86 - I suspect I am more likely to get this to work with Xorg.
