My apologises for unclear explanation. The startx-off screen script shuts down terminal immediately after X reset. Thus, pressing 'Disconnect' button in gdm, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace or just exiting from X session follow with shutdown. One can, of course, simply press the power button on machine (on ATX machine - for ~4 sec).
