Comments/Problems:
Debian Installer detected my two processors and installed an SMP
kernel (2.4.27-2-sparc32-smp) by default. This hung during reboot
with a "level 15 interrupt" error after the three "reserve_bootmem"
messages.
I suspected SMP might be causing complications so I tried removing
one processor. The result was a hang in the same place but with
a different error message ("watchdog error").
I finally got the new install to reboot by manually substituting a
non-SMP kernel. But now of course I only have one processor working.
It would be nice to have SMP, but if there are problems with the
SMP kernel it should not be installed by default.
I'm happy to provide further information or to test things.
