Ok, so the topic of the bug report "removable device are not mounted anymore in unstable" is a bit misleading then. Mounting of removable devices seems to work. > Unfortunatly, plugging a usb camera doesn't produce anything (in the > preferences I have set that it might run gthumb): > > manager.c/2535: Device added: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial > manager.c/2535: Device added: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial_if0 > manager.c/2535: Device added: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial_usbraw > manager.c/2572: Device removed: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial_usbraw > manager.c/2572: Device removed: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial_if0 > manager.c/2572: Device removed: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4a9_309a_noserial That sounds like a bug in g-v-m or hal. Either hal does not detect your digital camera correctly or g-v-m is behaving badly. Please attach the output of lshal to the bug report. In case your camera is not accessed as mass storage device, you probably need to have gphoto (libgphoto2-2) installed. Please check that too.
