As mentioned before, alsaconf is needed for 2.4 kernels and I don't understand yet, why you obtain on it. On next reboot your system will find your soundcard for sure, though. The module management is done by udev and hey, I think we can safely remove alsaconf out of our distribution. etch, lenny and sid do have 2.6 kernels. So alsaconf isn't needed anymore. Jordi, what do you think? Bug closed anyway Elimar -- Numeric stability is probably not all that important when you're guessing;-)
