Ion3 may crash at startup due to an uninitialised pointer. This has
been reported to me by 2 users at DebConf who were using amd64. For
some reason this bug is not apparent on i386. Other architectures may
be affected.
Having traced one of these crashes in gdb, I believe the following
changes in the next upstream version fix it. However, I am not yet
ready to release a new version of the package.
