When starting sdb the screen just goes black. I hear sound, but that's
it. When I press escape, I see the following:

OpenGL should be working fine here, as witnessed by gltron and chromium, which
have no problems.
One important note: I run the nvidia driver nvidia-kernel-legacy-2.6.18-3-686.
