Does this build now for mips64?  I closed 333001 some time ago with a
dependency on autotools-dev, so I think this should work now for all
platforms supported by that tool set.

If so, this should be wishlist, as you say.  Unfortunately, upstream is
no longer maintaining this version of mpich...
