Package: smail Version: 3.2.0.115-5.1 Severity: normal File: /etc/cron.daily/smail
My daily anacron job is telling me: /etc/cron.daily/smail: checkerr: ERROR: you must be root to do this! The (package-supplied) cron.daily script overtly does a su mail -c to run checkerr, despite starting with a comment to the effect that we have to be root to log-rotate, so may as well run checkerr while we're at it ! -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-k7 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages smail depends on: ii cron 3.0pl1-86 management of regular background p ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libident 0.22-3 simple RFC1413 client library - ru ii libwrap0 7.6.dbs-8 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
