vlc-nox depends on libavformat0d/libavcodec0d which have been superseded by libavformat1d/libavcodec1d and the former packages are not available anymore in sid. This makes the package uninstallable, thus the severity serious. I guess a simple recompilation is sufficient. If so, you can ask on the debian-release m-l to have binNMUs scheduled for vlc.
