The mentioned driver does not support this card. Support for Radeon
8550/9000/9200 has been dropped after driver version 8.28.8. Please read
the release notes of the ATI drivers. But your card should be perfectly
supported by the open radeon(5) driver. So I suggest you to use the open
driver instead. The proprietary 8.28.8 version further had some problems
with Radeon 9000/9200 cards, so you maybe don't want to use this driver
version.
The reported issue is not a bug. I think, this report can be closed.
