I can't reproduce your problem here, but looking through the
dependencies I see that inkscape nowhere mentions the package
cupsys-client, which provides /usr/bin/lp. Do you have this package
installed?

Might be, there are some known issues with printing in inkscape. If your
problem was related to these bug reports, I'd expect your printer to
spit out empty pages though.

Looking at the roadmap, this is indeed planned for version 0.47 of
inkscape.
