I spent some time tracking this down. According to the strace it crashes around
the time it would normally call into the mdns nss lib. Adding some debug info
to nss-mdns showed that it never actually gets to that point though. 

At this point i'm out of options, the distributed-net package contains no
source code and it's a static binary. So i can't debug this further (without
spending absurd amounts of time).

Reassigning this to distributed-net as it seems to work fine with all other
applications.
