I'm sorry, I think I already solved this problem. I upgraded sone of the texlive packages to the version from unstable some time ago and did not notice that apt did not also upgrade some of the dependant texlive packages. But once I manually upgraded to the version of those packages in unstable, texlive-base-bin configured ok. I assumed it was merely a case of not-strict-enough dependencies, and seeing your post about texlive dependencies on one of the Debian mailing lists, assumed that this was the same problem. Anyway, I'll see if I can find out the exact versions of the packages I had installed from my dpkg.log once I get back to my home PC. -- Sam Morris <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
