There is an option in preferences at tab HTML called: "Automatically
update author meta tag". Uncheck this and bluefish will not try to
change the author tag. So where is the bug/issue? What do you expect
bluefish to do?

Yes, you are rignt, sorry for the noise. For some reasons the "real name" for my userid had vanished. After restoring the value everything is fine. FYI, in version 1.1.3 (and CVS), this option doesnt work at all (does nothing)
