Don't think this bug should be closed, as a similar thing is happening on my system with debian etch 4.0 stable installed. Not giving complete details as this is similar to the existing bug report.
System freezes when I use the applet to switch to another user, and then try to switch back. This does not happen every time, about 1 in 5 times. As far as I can make out, it happens when many processes are running for original user. Once it happens, nothing I do helps.
