I am pretty sure I did not forget it, since I copied the commands from the bash history. And as you can see in the previous message the --initrd option was passed to make-kpkg both times I tried. make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image --revision=pm.0 --rootcmd sudo Thanks Paul
