I am mirroring custom repository which was originally generated using debarchiver -- so there is no pool. If no "--nocleanup" switch provided it removes source directories for debian distributions (etch,sid,sarge which have also symlinks testing,unstable,stable... I know - old links, not yet updated). But it operates fine on ubuntu repositories.
