I was on the NASA Website and have opened some 120 MByte JPG's (maximum
qality) and since there is very much "DARK" it automagicaly compressed.
Expamded they are arround 500-800 MByte each...
You computer needs at least 2-3 GByte of memory, otherwise you will
never work with such images. I recommend you using an AMD 64FX or
Opteron with Debian amd64 and at least 8 GByte of memory.
The Hubble and NASA Images are not made for "normal" public use.
You should use the Image-Viewers provided for free by the NASA.
