If I understand well what you mean, you don't play with the mouse but
with a paddle.
Don't you think your problem might be caused by your joypad
calibration/configuration?
Could you reproduce the bug when playing with the mouse?
Could you give me details on how you play with your paddle, how it is
configured...
It really sounds to be related to your joypad environment.
