Package: hostname Version: 2.93 Severity: normal
When attempting to use "hostname -f" or "hostname --fqdn" to determine the fully qualified domain name of the system, it returns: hostname: Unknown host This same syntax worked as expected in the hostname package in Debian Sarge. This causes problems with the amavisd-new package, because it has a line in one of its configuration files as follows: chomp($myhostname = `hostname --fqdn`); -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-486 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages hostname depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries hostname recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
