package: mplayer
severity: wishlist

Hello!

Christian Marilat has an FAQ section on his homepage in which he
describes the difference between his and the official (this) package for
mplayer. He demonstrates the differences by comparing the disabled
features. Except for plugins like lame and faac which are obviously not
distributable by Debian I see no reason not to enable at least all the
other features. Please consider to stay at least on level with the
unofficial packages concerning the number of enabled features.

Which is the difference between the official mplayer package and
        the one here ?

Here is the output of the configure script for i386 (only
        disabled options).

        debian-multimedia package :
        Disabled optional drivers :
        Input : libdvdcss
        Codecs : toolame
Audio output : sun ivtv dxr2
        Video output : winvidix bl zr zr2 ivtv dxr2 vesa tdfx_vid 3dfx

Thank you for your effort!

Cheers,
Fabian
