Package:ipmasq
Version: 4.0.8-2
I'm running ipmasq on a laptop that has both a wired ethernet and a
wireless interface. They are controlled by the NetworkManager daemon.
When you switch interfaces (by plugging or unplugging a network cable,
for instance) the NetworkManager dispatcher runs the scripts in
/etc/network/if-up.d for interfaces going up and
/etc/network/if-down.d for interfaces going down. What I did on my
system, is enter a symbolic link to /usr/sbin/ipmasq in both of those
directories so that my network firewall is automatically configured
whether I am on wired or wireless. This is particularly useful if the
laptop system has a qemu or vmware virtual machine. I am suggesting
that this be incorporated into the package as a "wishlist" or
enhancement.
