Package: hal
Version: 0.5.8.1-9

When I click on the gnome-power-manager applet and select either suspend
or hibernate, all that happens is that the screen in blanked briefly,
then it comes back up with the xscreensaver password prompt. After I
enter my password, there is a bubble on the gnome-power-manager applet
that states:

        Hibernate Problem
HAL failed to hibernate. Check the FAQ page for common problems.

There is nothing in my Xorg.log that indicates what the problem might
be. In /var/log/user.log, all I see is this:

Apr 11 20:30:32 barney gnome-power-manager: Hibernating computer because user
clicked hibernate from try menu.

However, if I directly invoke /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh, the system
hibernates properly (as well as resumes), so this does not appear to be
a hardware issue.
