If you want to, you could add a second user to your system and see if you can reproduce the problem with a fresh setup. Perhaps adding the the remote mounts one by one and see what causes this. Otherwise, file-roller 2.18 is currently available in experimental, and will probably be uploaded to unstable and then testing quite soon.
